projects: floating world – robotsy

I think I finally have all the firepower I need to get my main character up and running, modeling, rigging, and animation knowledge that is. My big worry was rigging, but I finally managed to collect all the info I think I will need to not be so fearful of it.

look for a very interesting and very moving robot that doesn’t know any better…

this is only the beginning folks, here is a quick leg rig test setup, don’t mind the simple geometry, of course it will be much crazier than that:

and don’t forget to check this out in HD in full screen if you really want to know what is going on…naw mein?

sketchbook: Dr. Sketchy’s

went to Dr. Sketchy’s last Sunday, fun times, best singer in the world Shay Estes was there to pose and perform with her friends Mark Lowrey and Mark Southerland. Two Marks don’t always make a right, but in this case there is an exception.

will definitely be posting more sketchbook related content in ze future.

labs: fn app…

fn

It’s great to be able to change your volume and brightness and whatever on the fly with your fn keys. It’s not so great when working in programs like Maya and After Effects, Nuke, or Shake where you really need those keys to act as normal fn keys, to change menu sets, and other things.

That is what “fn” is for. It simply Toggles “Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys” in Keyboard preferences.

This is how it works:

fn1.1 in action

I like to keep it in my dock or finder toolbar so whenever I need to switch that preference I can do it quickly.

Download: fn download page. . .
